Video: Thicket Tinamous

Tinamous are primitive, ground-dwelling birds of the Neotropics, most closely related to Rheas, Ostriches and their allies. Even though their sounds are typical for many tropical forests, I never had the chance to see one of these skittish, "prehistoric" birds. That changed thanks to the help of Los Tarrales Natural Reserve in Guatemala. Thanks to their four year long effort, Thicket Tinamous (Crypturellus cinnamomeus) can now be seen there regularly.
